She was the character Karen Walker for the NBC sitcom Will & Grace. (1998-2006 2017-2020). Her portrayal also earned her nominations to a variety of other awards, such as the seven-time Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series. She won three occasions between 2001 to 2002. Her first acting credits included a McDonald's commercial starring John Goodman. In 1986, she made her television debut in The Ellen Burstyn Show. She subsequently guest starred in sitcoms like Seinfeld Frasier Wings Ned and Stacey Mad About You Caroline in the City 3rd Rock from the Sun and Just Shoot Me!. She studied ballet from her age of 6 and was a member of the Oklahoma City Ballet during high school. She was also enrolled in the School of American Ballet in New York City.
